Quilt uses compact 2-zone and 3-zone outdoor systems. Larger projects can use multiple outdoor units, giving full homes room-by-room control plus useful system redundancy.
2-Zone
Designed for two independently controlled indoor zones. Published maximum capacity reaches 25,200 BTU/h heating and 24,000 BTU/h cooling under rated conditions.
3-Zone
Designed for three independently controlled indoor zones. Published maximum capacity reaches 40,200 BTU/h heating and 32,000 BTU/h cooling under rated conditions.
Equipment ratings are manufacturer-published values under specified test conditions. Correct sizing requires a room-by-room load assessment; Freedom HVAC confirms the practical configuration for each home.

Quilt publishes full heating capacity down to −5°F and 90% capacity at −13°F. That makes it a serious cold-climate system—not just a shoulder-season accessory. Freedom HVAC still evaluates home loads and backup needs for the specific project.

Is Quilt a central ducted HVAC system?
No. Quilt is a premium ductless heat-pump system. Each Indoor Unit serves its own room or living area and connects to a 2-zone or 3-zone Outdoor Unit.
Can Quilt heat and cool a whole home?
Yes, when the home and room loads are a fit. Whole-home projects can combine multiple modular 2-zone and 3-zone systems. A smaller project can also focus on one part of a home, an addition or an ADU.
How efficient is Quilt?
Quilt publishes SEER2 ratings of 25 for its 2-zone system and 25.3 for its 3-zone system, with HSPF2 Region IV ratings of 12. Actual energy use depends on the home, weather, settings and installation.
How well does Quilt perform in cold weather?
Quilt publishes full heating capacity at −5°F and 90% of heating capacity at −13°F, and both current configurations are ENERGY STAR Cold Climate certified. Freedom HVAC verifies sizing and any supplemental-heat strategy for the home.
Is Quilt quiet?
The Indoor Unit’s published operating range is 27–48 dBA. Outdoor units publish 50–52 dBA under AHRI rating conditions.
Can I use Quilt without my phone?
Yes. The Quilt Dial provides room-by-room and whole-home control with a rotary control and OLED touchscreen. The App adds remote access, schedules and detailed energy information.
How long does installation take?
Quilt says installation typically takes one to three days, depending on the number of units and home conditions. Freedom HVAC provides a project-specific schedule after evaluating the home.
What does a Quilt consultation include?
Freedom HVAC reviews the rooms, heating and cooling loads, indoor and outdoor locations, electrical requirements, condensate management, line-set routing and the appropriate current Quilt configuration.
Who handles service after installation?
