What is a Quilt system?
Quilt is an all-electric ductless heat pump. It moves heat indoors for heating and outdoors for cooling. Indoor units serve individual rooms or zones, connected to compatible outdoor equipment.
The Dial and app provide control. Optional external sensors contribute temperature readings. The indoor Quilt Sense module handles a different part of the connected system.
A zone is an area served by an indoor unit—not a promise that one unit will condition every room behind a closed door. Layout and room loads determine the right arrangement.

Original manufacturer files. Some source sheets contain inconsistent identifiers or dimensions; we verify the current match before using them for design or rebate eligibility. Document labels show the source revision, not a new Freedom edition.

Can I add a room later?
The one-zone sheet uses the same outdoor model as the two-zone configuration and describes later expansion. The existing match, installation provisions and current manufacturer procedure must be checked before adding another unit.
Does the outdoor unit have to be beside the room?
Placement depends on approved line lengths, elevation, service access, sound and drainage requirements. The shortest or most hidden location is not automatically the right one.
Can I paint the white cover?
Quilt offers a customizable white cover for paint or wallpaper. Follow Quilt’s finish instructions and keep air openings and service access clear. The white-oak cover is real veneer.
How should I compare efficiency?
Compare the matched configuration and its SEER2/HSPF2 rating. A higher seasonal rating does not promise a specific bill reduction; weather, building loads, settings and electricity rates matter.
Does Quilt need internet access?
The connected app and smart features depend on connectivity. The current Quick Start Guide describes continued operation when devices go offline and a Safe Mode. Read the guide for the applicable behavior and ask for help rather than resetting equipment unnecessarily.
Where can I get current troubleshooting help?
Start with Freedom’s local service path. Quilt also maintains its manufacturer support center. Describe the symptom and error message; do not open electrical or refrigerant equipment yourself.
